Minimum Wage for 2024 is Announced

The new minimum wage amount, which will be effective as of January 2024, was announced following the works carried out by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission to determine the new minimum wage amount for 2024. It has been increased by 49% and became net TRY 17,002.00.

With the minimum wage increase:

• The base amount of unemployment allowance will increase to TRY 7,994.74 and the ceiling amount to TRY 15,989.48.
• Salaries of interns, who are under the age of 18 and who work as interns as part of their education, will increase to TRY 5.096,64 with the new increase. 
• The severance pay base will increase to TRY 20,002.00. For determining the severance pay ceiling, the announcement of the increase in the salaries of civil servants is expected.

As you know, in the last couple of years, the minimum wage has been increased 2 times in a year. However, the government emphasizes that there will not be a second increase to the minimum wage in 2024.
